Ok, so this week is taste test week. I will be giving you the low down on some of your favorite foods, and which ones the judges liked the most.
Mmmm Bacon!! I love bacon. I sure wish I could have been a judge for this one. Here are the winners of the Big Bite Taste Test for Bacon….
Best Original: Ozark Trails Hickory Smoked and Peppered Bacon.
Tasters loved this one for its “campfire smokiness” and “pig flavor”. It would be great atop a burger for extra crunch, or with your eggs at breakfast.
Best Thick-Cut: Jimmy Dean Thick Slice Premium Bacon.
Thicker than regular bacon strips, these slices are substantially delicious, salty, porky, and fatty. Mmmm, pork fat rules.
Best Turkey: Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon. (Had it, it’s pretty good)
With their reddish-purple hue, chewy texture and buttery flavor, these strips are almost as tasty as the real thing – with half the fat.
Best Sweet: Beeler’s Uncured Apple-Cinnamon Bacon (Interesting)
This sugary, thick-cut bacon has an interesting “cinnamony-sweet” flavor. They cook up crisp around the edges, leaving the middle tender.
Best Oddball: Mountain Products Smokehouse Country Sliced Chipotle Southwest Smoked Bacon.
