I Vote Renew Your Vows!

I was married for the first time, in 1989. I was pregnant, and did not have a lot of money, so we were married at the Justice of the Peace in Los Angeles. Not the wedding I imagined at all. I remember they wanted us to pay for a video, I believe it was $29.95….lol. I dreaded the thought of it, and gave my mother a look that could kill when she mentioned purchasing it. She didn’t, and I am ever so grateful. I always said, I would renew my vows after 15 years. Well, 15 years came and went. It just wasn’t quite as important to him as it was to me, and at 16 years, I was so unhappy I didn’t care anymore. We separated and then divorced soon after.

I think that if you are happy, and even a little in love, you should renew them. Start fresh, and if you have the money go and do something exciting. I want to renew my vows with my current husband at the 10 year mark, and every 10 after that. He is amazing. I am hoping that we can do this on a cruise ship headed to Belize, Cozumel, and Progresso. That was the first cruise we took together, and my first vacation ever. Just go for it….if you are both in agreement anyway. How wonderful to honor the day you became husband and wife by renewing your vows. I think it would be amazing.
