Where The Billionaires Go

So, while all us poor people are confined to our homes because we can’t afford to go out anywhere, here’s where all the rich billionaire assholes go for a little relaxation (according to an article on Yahoo! Travel)….

Oprah goes to Antigua, where she has a vacation home. Eric Clapton and Giorgio Armani have homes there too.

Bill Gates goes to a remote skiing resort 15 miles outside of Maniitsoq, West Greenland. This resort has no ski lifts and no one else goes there.

Ty Warner, owner of Ty, Inc., manufacturer of Beanie Babies, goes to the Four Seasons New York, which he owns, and where he has a 4,300 square foot penthouse suite. This suite has a 25-foot ceiling, a 360 degree view of Manhattan, and of course every amenity known to man.

Microsoft cofounder, Paul Allen, goes around in his 416 foot yacht Octopus. Annual operating costs for a mega-yacht are said to run 10% of the ship’s initial cost. For Paul Allen, that’s $20 million. This yacht has a pool, basketball court, movie theater, two helicopters, a 10 person submarine, jet-ski dock, and a 60 person crew.

Richard Branson, the Virgin billionaire, owns a 74-acre private getaway near St. Thomas called Necker Island. This island has 101 flamingos living there, a watersports crew that teaches guests how to kitesurf, snorkel, and kayak, and also has a personal chef. Most visitors rent out the entire island, which can accommodate parties of up to 28 guests.

Whatever! Must be nice to have money, huh?
