Archive for the Conference Calls
About two months ago we started getting inundated with calls from Wells Fargo Debt Recovery. When they first started calling, I got mad at my husband and accused him of not settling debts from his previous marriage. I knew that I didn’t owe them any money. Come to find out, after several hang ups and they finally decided to talk, they had the wrong number. Did that stop them from calling? No! They have continued to call several times a day from as early as 8:00 a.m. until as late as 9:30 p.m. We continually told them that they had the wrong number and to please stop calling. They continued to call. We became more forceful and used several choice words. That didn’t stop them. I wanted to block their number but my husband wanted to play around with them. He downloaded sound boards from Quagmire and Miss Cleo. When they asked for the husband debtee, he answered questions as Quagmire, and the wife, as Miss Cleo. He got several laughs from them and they even transferred him from person to person. It was funny for awhile but pretty soon after so many calls and hangups, it got really old. My husband reported them to the FTC first but they did nothing. He decided to do a little research, spoke to a lawfirm that specializes in this kind of harassment and come to find out, we have a good case for a lawsuit. We pay no fees up front, in fact, they go after Wells Fargo for attorney fees and we will end up with at least a couple thousand out of the deal. Best of all (besides the money) they will leave us alone and no more annoying calls.
