Is whats going on in Maryland also going on across America? The use of SWAT teams for purposes other than what these teams were created for? Less than 10% of the time the SWAT teams were deployed for their original purpose. Large sums of tax payer dollars go to the training of these teams to react to specific situations and yet they are sent execute arrest and search warrants. In Prince George county alone SWAT teams were sent out to execute warrants on non violent citizens who were suspected of low level/non violent felonies and misdemeanors almost 5 times a day. In how many other states does this practice occur? Maryland is the first state to officially keep record on this so there is no chance to compare any hard data to any other state. The numbers are alarming. These officers are trained for extreme and violent situations so why are they searching peoples houses or arresting individuals who have committed no violent crime but only wrote a bad check. More and more law enforcement agencies are being equipped with military tactical gear in addition to training in the use of this equipment on the general public. Understand and accept that if you make it beyond the bug out stage, you have managed to avoid all of the common pitfalls, no injuries and you can still think rationally, you have done exceptionally well. With all of the economic woes we are facing, the stark reality is, that there is a definite possibility that goods and services could come to a complete stop. That means no more trucks to bring food to put on the shelves. The stores will be barren within hours and for those who realize to late, starvation comes even sooner. I debated about putting that statement in but I feel that we should consider the worst case scenario where you might be tested in ways you never thought you would. You will have to defend yourself as well as live off the land all the while avoiding injury, hostilities, not to mention keeping your sanity. Being prepared is the key. If you have a firearm already you know there is nothing like practice to make you a more accurate shooter. First, learn your firearm operations well before you try to target practice. Become familiar with the disassemble/assembly and cleaning of your firearm. Learning this will serve you well and prolong the life of your firearm. My father used to make me clean all of his firearms after we would go target shooting. Sometimes he would make me clean a firearm that was already clean. I truly understand now why he made me do this and I thank him for that. If you are going to make a purchase I highly recommend you look into as many different types of firearms in the category you’ve selected ( rifle or pistol ). Well it is Friday and time to spend it with the family. Unfortunately we have to make it a working weekend. My mother in-law is moving this weekend, I just hope it does not rain on us. My daughter is very excited because Grandma is moving closer and will be spending the nite with us this weekend do to the stupid government. She is on section 8 and you can not be at two address at the same time so, we had to wait until the end of the month and then she has to wait over night so that she leaves one apartment in one month and is in the next apartment the next month. But whatever, it will all work out for the best. It gives our daughter some prime time with grandma and time for us to talk as adults as well.
