Getting Ready For The Super Bowl

Super Bowl XLIV is tomorrow, with the New Orleans Saints taking on the Indianapolis Colts.  I’m excited to be off work so that I can actually sit back and enjoy the game this year.  Things are kinda hectic in our house right now, as we’re in the middle of packing for our move back to Arizona, but by tomorrow, things will be settled enough by game time.

The best thing to do while watching the game is, of course, to eat.  This year will be no different.  We’re going to have homemade pinto beans, Spanish rice, chips and salsa (homemade…yum!), and some fresh tortillas.  Add to that some homemade sweet tea, and you’ve got a feast that is fit for a king.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it LOL.

At kickoff tomorrow, I’m hoping that Drew Brees and co. are able to get their high-powered offense in gear, and limit the damage done by Peyton Manning.  In the end, I truly think that the Saints will be able to get by the Colts.  It should be a pretty high scoring game, and will most likely be close, with the Saints winning by three or seven.

So as tomorrow comes closer, I hope that you have all got your plans set up.  Watching the game is even better when you’re around good friends and/or family.  This year, we’ll be watching the game by ourselves, and we hope to not have to do that ever again.  Enjoy the game, everyone!  And please send a comment if you have a favorite recipe that you’d like to share.
