It’s been several years since I’ve been able to go on a cruise, and I’m starting to feel the itch again, so I decided to go online and window shop. I’ve only been on Carnival Cruise Lines, so I naturally ended up at www.carnival.com. I found a cruise that may just work, provided that we can get the money together LOL. This very well could be my next dream cruise.

Well, there she is… The Carnival Spirit… such a beauty. She leaves San Diego, CA on Friday, November 12, 2010 and travels down to the Mexican Riviera for an eight-day cruise. Included in the itinerary are three cities in Mexico… Acapulco, Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, and Manzanillo… and also four fun days at sea. The prices for this particular cruise range from $409 for an interior room, to $1,319 for a suite… definitely a bargain for everything that you get.
I recommend spending the extra money at each city in order to go on one of the shore excursions, as they are an excellent way to see parts of the country that you wouldn’t normally get to see. In Acapulco alone, there are twenty-six different excursions that you can take, like the city tour where you get to learn all about the city or the famous Acapulco Cliff Divers tour, where you actually get to go and see these cliff dives in person. In Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, there are fourteen different excursions, like deep sea fishing, a city tour, or swimming with the dolphins… which the kids would enjoy. Last, but not least, Manzanillo features twelve different shore excursions where you can go on a city and shopping tour, view historic countryside pueblos, or do a catamaran and snorkel tour.
As you can see, cruises are an excellent way to spend a vacation as you can tailor each day to your liking. Heck, you don’t even have to really get off of the boat to enjoy yourself. Cruise ships are like little floating cities, and have so much to offer themselves, and then throw in the fact that you get to spend time learning about other countries and you have a vacation that you are sure not to forget… and this is why this cruise would be my next dream cruise.
